AN EMPLOYEE at KFC Clydebank has tested positive for Covid-19.

The staff member at the Clyde Shopping Centre restaurant is self-isolating at home  after the positive test on Wednesday, September 23.

Residents who have visited the fast food chain within that time period and are feeling symptoms are asked to let management aware and get tested.

A KFC spokesperson said: “A team member at our Clydebank restaurant tested positive for coronavirus and we have closely followed government guidelines to ensure that our teams and guests are safe.

"The team member is now self-isolating at home and it goes without saying we’re wishing them a full and speedy recovery.

"We’re doing all we can to support our teams, including following all the necessary guidance to maintain a safe, clean environment for both our teams and guests.”

Anyone who has questions are urged to discuss the issue with a member of management.

At her daily coronavirus briefing on Friday, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced that a further 558 cases of the virus have been confirmed in the past 24 hours, with a provisional breakdown of the data indicating that nearly half of those - a total of 255 - are in the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde area.
