A man was found seriously burned at an East End flat this morning. 

The 60-year-old was raced to Glasgow Royal Infirmary Hospital after he was found on Cardowan Street in Carntyne. 

Police have launched a probe into the incident.

First Bus services were forced to divert their routes after cops shut down the street. 

The 38B and 46 services have since returned to their usual routes as the road reopened.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At 8am this morning police were called after a 60-year-old man was found with serious burn injuries at a flat in Cardowan Road, Carntyne.

"He was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary where medical staff describe his condition as stable.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish how he came across his injuries."
