A FIFTH album from Beerjacket is on the way, with a release date set down for later next week.

Health Hour was written and recorded entirely in lockdown, from March to July this year.

The record was teased with the single Younger, which has garnered a lot of radio interest when it was released at the end of August.

Beerjacket, a project with four full-length albums and a live album already under its belt, is spearheaded by singer-songwriter Peter Kelly.

In a social media post today, he said: "It goes without saying that 2020 has not been the year anyone was expecting.

"The plan for this summer had been to record a new studio album with Cairn String Quartet, following our sold-out Celtic Connections collaboration at CCA in January.

"When it became clear that this wasn't going to be possible due to Covid-19 restrictions, the priority became to create something positive out of this situation."

Kelly then dove into home-recording to deliver his latest album which is now ready to go.

Health Hour will also be available a week early (as of tomorrow) on Bandcamp to coincide with the platform’s Bandcamp Friday.

It will be available everywhere else from Friday, October 9.
