JOSHUA GRANT will release a re-worked version of his debut track Transparent later this month.

The singer-songwriter is on a high following the success of his single Edinburgh earlier this year.

New material is also set for release this winter, but Grant was keen to kick off the next chapter of his career with a return to where it all started.

He enlisted the help of Mark Freegard, who has worked with Del Amitri and Manic Street Preachers, to give the track a new lease of life.

He said: "Transparent was the first song I wrote and released so this re-release is really special to me as things have basically gone full circle in the past year.

"I wrote Transparent in a time where it was hard for me to get my thoughts out and I wish people could just see my thoughts instead. Thank god I found songwriting.

"With a vinyl of all my songs up until now being released, and a new song in November, it's definitely the beginning of a new chapter.

"A massive shout-out to Boo Hewerdine and Mark for helping me out with this re-release, without either of them I would be very stuck."

Grant aims to deliver his next single in the form of I Want So Much More on November 28.

"I hope folk like the new one we have planned," he added. "It's different to anything I've made before."

Transparent will be re-released on October 30.
