A MAN has been arrested after allegedly threatening three bin collectors with a kitchen knife in Renfrew.
The 49-year-old suspect is reported to have hurled abuse at the Renfrewshire Council workers as they emptied bins outside his Kirklandneuk Road home at around 7.50am on Tuesday.
It is understood he took exception after they mistakenly placed his bin on the wrong side of the road.
The suspect reportedly went back into his house before returning with a kitchen knife.
The workers – aged 30, 32 and 35 – went back to their bin lorry and contacted the police.
Officers who went to the scene charged the suspect with breach of the peace and possession of a knife.
He was taken into custody but was later released on an undertaking and is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court in due course.
