Celtic fans have stormed parking lots surrounding Parkhead ahead of the start of the Old Firm clash this morning. 

Riot vans and mounted officers were called to the scene in the East End after crowds gathered in the area. 

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, as well as Neil Lennon and Steven Gerrard called for supporters to stay at home this Saturday.

Supporters were warned flouting the coronavirus restrictions could put lives at risk. 

But instead, dozens of officers were called to control flare-wielding crowds. 

A banner being held up read: "Today nothing else matters."

Hoops fans could be heard cheering as they greeted the team's arrival.

Police Scotland was contacted for comment.
