Two people were assaulted in Paisley on Thursday evening.
A 24-year-old woman sustained a head injury after she and a 29-year-old man were attacked in Well Street.
Officers were called to the scene just after 5pm.
The woman was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
They have now launched a probe into the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At 5.05pm we were called on Thursday, October 15 after a man and woman, aged 29 and 24, respectively were assaulted in Well Street, Paisley.
The 24-year-old woman was subsequently treated for a head injury at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
"Enquiries are continuing."
