KIDS in the Gorbals will be able to celebrate Halloween with a twist this year - as celebration go virtual.

New Gorbals Housing Association has planned for 'Little Demon Discos' to take place on October 28th for kids aged 7 to 11 and on November 1st for kids aged 3 to 6.

The Zoom discos will replace the normally bustling spooky schedule, which has been adapted this year due to coronavirus restrictions.

Linda Malone, NGHA chairperson said: "It was clear to us that things would have to look different this year, and with traditional guising looking unlikely to go ahead, we wanted to provide kids with a safe space where they could still have fun, meet up with friends, and show off their costumes.”

Other events planned include an art competition held by friends of the Southern Necropolis, replacing their annual graveyard walk.

Local councillor, Soryia Siddique, said: "Though this will be different from normal circumstances and we may not be able to party in person, virtual disco sessions will allow children and families to enjoy Halloween games and music."

The discos are free to attend, although spaces are limited. To get in early, contact admin@newgorbalsha.org.uk or call 0141 429 3900.
