A CAR which was pursued by police was found overturned in Townhead. 

A 53-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident. 

Police were first notified of a car being driven in Bishopbriggs at around 3.40pm today. 

The car was pursued by police on Springburn Road and did not stop when officers signalled to it.

The car was then found on its roof in Kennedy Street in Townhead next to a block of private student halls.

The road was closed following the incident but has since reopened. 

A police spokeswoman said: "We received a report relating to concerns about a vehicle being driven in the Bishopbriggs area around 3.40pm on Tuesday, 20 October.

"The vehicle was subsequently located on Springburn Road but failed to stop when signalled by officers.

"The vehicle was found overturned on Kennedy Street a short time later.

"A 53 year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. The road has since reopened."
