FOLLOWING the news that the city is set to welcome a Greggs outlet store, Glasgow residents have reacted.

The Glasgow Times understands the new store will soon be opening its doors in the South Side of the city on Nitshill Road.

Despite Glasgow residents claiming the 'outlet' existed in Glasgow years ago, including on Maryhill Road, in Toryglen and Cambuslang, it has not been confirmed by Greggs if there are any currently trading.

Our readers from across Glasgow and beyond let us know their thoughts on the new addition.

Scott Mooney said: "Patch the Nike outlet this is where it’s at."

Leah Douglas wrote: "The dream."

Meanwhile, Joanne Wilson tagged her pal and said: "Wow check this out... two-day hangovers sorted."

Stuart Bruce added: "Cheap bridies yassss."

And Summer Summer joked: "Can’t wait for a pre-loved steak bake."

Others reminisced about similar stores back in the day.

Kirsty Greenhorn said: "There was an outlet at Halfway...was definitely fatal, box of donuts for 20p, not good for the waistline."

Gwen Cooper explained: "They had similar bread shops like this in America when I lived there. Great if you have a big family."

Meanwhile, Amanda Dolan said: "Nope. Wouldn’t travel all the way there for an old sausage roll."

But Graeme Inglis joked: "Nothing better than last seasons sausage rolls. I’ll only buy the fashionable ones though!"

Gary Martin Corr said he would "be first in the queue."

And some people couldn't believe the news.
