RESIDENTS said they were woken up by a blaze at a used car dealership in the East End. 

Locals reported that a used car dealership in Tollcross Road was on fire this morning from around 3am. 

Emergency services are at the scene close to the junction with Amulree Street. There are two used car dealerships side by side and it is not yet known which one is affected. 

The road is currently closed to traffic.

One Tollcross resident said this morning: "No buses or cars are getting through. It's been on fire since about 3.30am.

"I phoned the fire brigade at 3.45am because the noise woke me up."

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that there were currently four fire engines at the scene. 

A police spokesman said: "At around 4.30am on Tuesday, October 27, officers were made aware of a fire in Tollcross Road. 

"Officers later attended to assist with road closures."
