Glasgow has officially been placed under level three of the new lockdown rules to begin on Monday.
It means with travel restrictions people are not to travel outside the city except for essential exemptions.
Even with surrounding areas at the same level, the restrictions apply at a council level so people should not travel outside Glasgow.

The city is in the second-highest of five levels with every one of the 32 councils into one of the levels.
It will be in level three along with Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire, East and West Dunbartonshire, North, East and South Ayrshire, Inverclyde, Stirling, Falkirk, Clackmannanshire, Edinburgh, Midlothian and East, and West Lothain and Dundee.
North and South Lanarkshire are in level three but is to be kept under review on a daily basis.
Ms Sturgeon said on travel restrictions are an essential price to pay to tackle Covid.
She said: "If you live in level three council area please do not travel outside the council area you live in except for essential purposes."
The other areas are:
- Level one: Highland, Moray, Western Isles, Orkney and Shetland.
- Level two: Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen, Fife, Borders, Dumfries and Galloway, Argyll and Bute, Perth and Kinross, and Angus
The rules will take effect at 6 am on Monday and the next update will be Tuesday, November 10.
Several factors were considered in allocating areas into a level including the number of positive cases per 100,000 of population, the forecast for the coming week, the percentage of people testing positive and the capacity of the NHS in that area.
Ms Sturgeon said: "We're still seeing a rising number of hospitalisations new cases and sadly deaths."
She added: "Europe is firmly in the grip of a second wave of Covid."
There were 37 new deaths registered. Total death toll is now 2791
There were 1128 new positive cases of coronavirus with 416 in the Greater Glasgow health board area.
There were 1152 people in the hospital an increase of 35 and 86 in intensive care and increase of 1 .
