A SCOTS actor is to stand trial next year accused of repeatedly stabbing his brother.

Paul Brannigan, 34, allegedly assaulted sibling David Brannigan on New Year’s Day 2020.

The Angels’ Share star is said to have struck his brother on the head and body with a knife at a property in Glasgow’s Parkhead.

He denies the accusation and a trial was on Thursday set for next May.

Prosecutors state the alleged attack was to David Brannigan’s severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger of his life.

The actor, who also appeared in River City and Sunshine on Leith, is also accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

Brannigan is claimed to have shouted and sworn and thrown objects as well as damage furniture at the house on Stamford Gate.

The charge goes on to say Brannigan also brandished a knife and pursued his brother and Margaret Devlin.

Brannigan faces a final charge of possessing cocaine at the property where he lives.

He also pleaded not guilty to those accusations.

Brannigan appeared in the dock for a hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Sheriff Paul Crozier continued his bail meantime.
