AN ACTING student at Glasgow’s Royal Conservatoire has been given the backing from Hollywood, after she was selected for a major film studio's prestigious programme.
Sylvie Marinkovic is just one of ten actors worldwide to be selected for Warner Bros. Television’s Actors in Training Class of 2020, a training programme specifically created for students who have had end of year events and networking opportunities disrupted by coronavirus.

More than 6,800 students applied for the initiative.
Sylvie, a final year student, said: “I thought they’d maybe pick 500 people and keep the others on their books so when I heard that I was one of ten, it was the biggest shock.”
"I’m still actually processing it. It’s a wonderful opportunity which is opening a door into the industry.”
Professor Jeffrey Sharkey, principal of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, said: “We are so proud of Sylvie for being selected for Warner Bros. Television’s Actors in Training Class of 2020.
"To be chosen from thousands of actors worldwide is an exceptional achievement and a real badge of honour for Sylvie and a point of pride for our BA Acting programme. We are delighted to celebrate with her.”
