A PUB popular with Celtic fans has revealed that they are fighting for survival. 

McChuills, based in Glasgow's city centre, first opened 27 years ago. 

In a post on Facebook, the bar announced that its 'in a fight for its very survival'.

Bosses have since made the decision to operate as a cafe whilst coronavirus restrictions remain in place. 

Across Greater Glasgow, no alcohol is allowed to be served in pubs, restaurants and bars, and they must close at 6pm. 

McChuills are now appealing for help from their customers and the wider public. 

In the Facebook post, bosses wrote: "After 27 years, McChuills is in a fight for its very survival.

"So if you want to see us make it to 2021 we need your help.

"We are back open on Friday from 9am and operating as a cafe, serving fantastic coffee, breakfast rolls, lunch and brunch.

"Sit in or take away.

"Buy your coffee from your local independent cafe. #LiveLifeLocal #shoplocal #supportsmallbusiness."

Customers shared their support in the comments.

One person wrote: "I'll be in, so many good nights in here. And the odd daytime session! Keep the faith and remember that there is a huge amount of goodwill for McChuills, we'll back you."

Another added: "Wish I could be there and support yous - but from germany it is not that easy @ the moment...good luck. Let’s hope for 2021."
