A Glasgow City Council spokeswoman said: “Our schools are working really hard to keep families updated with the correct information as soon as they are aware of a positive case relating to the school.

“This can result in a class having to self-isolate as a precaution, certain school staff or pupils having to self-isolate or no further action required.

“Regardless, the appropriate letter is sent to a family informing them of what’s been agreed in consultation with the public health experts.

“We understand that this is an anxious time for everyone and that we are still in the midst of a global pandemic but we want to reassure parents and carers that our schools have robust risk assessments in place to help suppress the virus and allow our children and young people continue their education.”
