An investigation has been launched after a car was torched in Bothwell in a late-night attack.
Fire crews were called to the scene on Bellshill Road at 11.35pm yesterday evening.
The blaze, which police are treating as suspicious, was extinguished by firefighters.
A police probe has now been launched as the force appeal to the public for information into the incident.
The force have confirmed that the incident occurred close to the home of Celtic player Leigh Griffiths, however they added that the car does not belong to the football player or anybody within his household.
A spokesman said: "Officers were called to a report of a car on fire at an address in Bellshill Road, Bothwell around 11.35pm on Monday, 16 November, 2020.
"The fire, which is being treated as suspicious, was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. An investigation is at an early stage.
"Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area around this time to get in touch if they saw or heard anything suspicious by calling 101, quoting reference 3820 of 16 November 2020."
