THE coronavirus death toll in Inverclyde has risen to 123 after a new fatality was recorded.
For the second successive week, a death was registered in the district with Covid-19 mentioned on the certificate.
In the week to November 15, there were 105 deaths in Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
A total of 5,135 deaths have been registered in Scotland where coronavirus was recorded on the death certificate, according to statistics published by National Records of Scotland on Wednesday.
Pete Whitehouse, NRS director of statistical services, said: “Each statistic represents heartbreak for families across the country who mourn the loss of loved ones as a result of this virus."
