IT'S officially the most wondeful time of the year in Glasgow.
Well, we're one step closer at least after the city's Christmas lights were switched on with the help of a key worker hero and Clyde 1 stars.
George Bowie and Cassi, who host the breakfast show, joined Lord Provost Philip Braat and council worker Theresa Glasgow to mark the big occasion.
One of the highlights of the festive calendar, the event moved online for the first time due to the pandemic as they flicked the switch inside the City Chambers.
Speaking in an online video, the Lord Provost said: "As we know the Christmas lights swich-on is going to be very, very different. We will not be able to hold the massive event we normally have each year on George Square.
"The light switch-on event is always the most popular event in the Glasgow festive calendar."
Introducing Theresa, he added: "This year of all years, key workers have done tremendously well. They have kept this city running. I want to thank all key workers."
When asked by Cassi how she felt about being asked to switch-on the lights, Theresa said: "It feels weird and wonderful. When I got the phone call, I was absolutely gobsmacked.
"I was really humbled as well to represent the key workers in Glasgow. How can you say no to that?"
It was left to Theresa to do the honours and she did so with aplomb, lighting up the city in Christmas sparke.
