A pedestrian has died after being hit by several cars on the M8.

Emergency services were called to the scene between junctions 7A and 78 Westbound in Baillieston on Thursday evening.

The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation has been launched into the incident as police have appealed to the public for information and dash-cam footage.

The force have revealed that they do not know why the man was walking along the carriageway that does not provide pedestrian access.

"We are appealing to anyone who saw the incident happen, or to those who may have dash-cam footage and who have not already spoken to officers, to get in touch.

"The man is described as white, between 35 to 60 years of age, wearing a black Karrimor jacket, black jogging bottoms and black and grey Nike trainers.

"If you have any information about the crash or can assist with identifying the man, then please contact officers at Motherwell Road Policing Unit via 101. Please quote reference number 3302 of 19 November, 2020, when calling."
