A MAN facing allegations of serious child sex offences has been found dead. 

Robert Brown, 51 was linked to an alleged “paedophile ring” which had been accused of operating in Townhead. 

After a protest outside a tower block linked to the so-called paedophile ring, Brown and others were relocated out of the scheme into different houses while they awaited trial.

The late 51-year-old was facing five charges, including one of raping a child under the age of 13. 

He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on October 20, along with eight men and five women who were charged with alleged child sex offences. All were bailed and it is understood some were relocated from the city centre housing estate to other parts of Glasgow. 

A mob were dispersed from outside his former home in Townhead on the night of November 4.

His body was found just over a week later on November 12.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “The death is being treated as unexplained but non-suspicious.

"A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
