IT may be a family affair for the filmmakers at Fellowship Films - but this time they are asking for help from their friends.
The Glasgow-based movie studio has just finished its second feature, Jessie and the Elf Boy, with brothers Philip, Matthew, Nathan, Laurie and Geoff Todd, as well as their two cousins, John and Tom Walkinshaw, all involved in the production.
But the men need to raise £8000 to see the production through to its edited completion.
Philip wrote the drama with his brother Matthew, and their friend Lindsey Stirling, a fantasy writer.
He said: "Making a film is one thing, but making a film during a pandemic is quite another.
"The film industry has taken a considerable hit and in society at large most of us have struggled as individuals.
"Although we obviously had to adhere to strict guidelines, we felt we could make a difference, as well as provide employment, during these dark times by creating something entertaining, fun and feel-good for others to enjoy.
"It has been a hugely rewarding experience.”
Jessie and the Elf Boy features rising star Julia Brown, who has appeared in the BBC’s World on Fire and The Last Kingdom on Netflix, alongside veteran actor Gail Watson, of the BBC's Shetland and In Plain Sight.
The film is inspired by the tale of Ghillie Dhu, a fairy creature of Scottish folklore, who finds a local child, Jessie, and shows her the way home.
Jessie and the Elf Boy not only imagines a friendship between the two but takes viewers right up to Jessie’s adult life where she is working as a stylist in a hair salon.
It is here her magical companion finds her once again.
Despite the difficulties of filming during the pandemic, the Fellowship Film team managed to go ahead with shooting and indeed were determined to do so in this challenging climate.
The film is due to be finished by summer 2021.

Fellowship Film was set up in 2017 and this will be the second feature film the company has produced.
Its first was historical fantasy adventure ‘The Gaelic King’.
