THE famous Wee Red Book stole the show on Saturday as it scored a primetime slot on one of the most popular radio shows in Scotland.
The Glasgow Times’ football pocket bible was the talk of the toon when co-editor Stuart Sandler appeared on BBC Radio Scotland’s Off the Ball with Tam Cowan and Stuart Cosgrove.
Sandler, who is also content editor of the Glasgow Times, treated thousands of listeners across the country to the best tidbits about the national game.
There was no shortage of laughs from the Odd Couple of Scottish football, with former Glasgow Times columnist Cowan in his usual good form.
The appearance from the Wee Red Book, in its 92nd year, came just days after we told of its starring role in one of the most popular novels of the year.
The lead character of Shuggie Bain, by Sighthill author Douglas Stuart, is given his own copy so he “be more like the other wee boys”.
