Businesswoman Pam Gosal has been chosen by the Scottish Conservatives to fight the Clydebank and Milngavie constituency in next year’s Scottish Parliament election.

Ms Gosal, who lives in Milngavie with her husband and children, has a professional background in economic development in Scotland and the rest of the UK.

She says that Clydebank's deprivation and unemployment rates mean there needs to be a "renewed focus on creating new opportunities for people in the town and wider area".

Ms Gosal said: “While campaigning will undoubtedly be different due to Covid restrictions, I am looking forward to engaging with voters and discussing the issues that matter to them.

“For too long Clydebank has suffered with high levels of unemployment, deprivation and a lack of long-term opportunities and I’m determined to change that.

“With a background in economic development, jobs and our economic recovery is at the heart of my campaign for the people of Clydebank and across the constituency.

“This is what people want to discuss, rather than the SNP’s constant talk of another divisive independence referendum.

“I would be proud to represent this seat and give the communities of Clydebank and beyond a strong voice in the Scottish Parliament.”

Ms Gosal joins Clydebank area councillors Marie McNair (SNP) and Douglas McAllister (Labour) on the ballot paper for the May 6 poll.
