A dog has sadly died after being struck by a vehicle in a hit and run incident.
The dog, named Jerry, slipped from his harness on Glasgow Road in Chapleton at 10.15am on November 20 before making off onto the roadway.
A few seconds later, an electric blue four-by-four, thought to be a Jaguar, struck the dog at high speeds.
The vehicle stopped further down the road and then drove off in the East Kilbride direction, failing to stop and provide details.
Police are appealing to witnesses to come forward as the area was busy at the time with other vehicles and dog walkers.
Those with information are urged to contact 101 quoting incident “1634 of 20/11/20”.
