A major 999 operation was launched today in response to an incident at Kingston Bridge.
Police, ambulances and an incident support vehicle were called to the scene at the junction of West Street and Cook Street.
It has emerged that a pedestrian was struck by a van on the sliproad.

His current condition is unknown.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A road traffic crash on the M8 slip road at Kingston bridge eastbound was reported to us just after 10AM. A man has been struck by a van.
"Emergency services remain on scene."
The junction of West Street /Cook Street / M8 onslip will be closed until further notice.

A Tweet from Traffic Scotland reads: "Due to an ongoing Police Incident on the M8 Junction 20 on slip to M8 eastbound Kingston Bridge from West Street, the junction of West Street /Cook Street / M8 onslip will be subject to restriction until further notice."
