Rangers have out-earned rivals Celtic in Uefa prize money for the first time in nine years.

The Light Blues have sealed around £6.23m already thanks to solid victories, including a 3-2 win over Standard Liege last night at Ibrox.

This is compared to Celtic's estimated £6.04m having gone their entire campaign so far without any wins under their belt.

According to Football Coefficient database, around £514,000 is handed over to clubs for a victory in Europa League group games, while £171,000 is given for any draws. Gers are on course to win their group next week with victory over Lech Poznan which would see them mop up £1million compared to if they fail to top the group. Though second place would still fetch them around £450,000.

Gers have won three group games and drawn two, while Celts have only managed a single draw away to Lille.

Clubs from the same country are also usually forced to split the cash pot in the latter stages - which only Gers have managed - meaning they will mop up the funds.
