This Christmas season will be unusual in many ways but the Pavillion Theatre will ensure it does not pass without a panto.

Rehearsals for an online and free to watch panto 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' will start next week.

The Christmas Eve panto will star Liam Dolan, Stephen Purdon, Grado, Nicola Park, Joyce Falconer, James McAnerney and Mori Christian.

There will be two performance on December 24, the first at 2pm and the second at 6.30pm.

But if you miss it, you can watch it at any point from Christmas day until January 4 on the theatre's YouTube channel.

To keep it engaging on the small screen, the panto will be about half an hour long.

But the Glasgow theatre reminded punters it is up to them to embrace the Christmas spirit.

In a social media post, theatre bosses wrote: "Why not dress up for the occasion and make this a Christmas to remember … Santa Claus, an elf, a fairy, your favourite Christmas jumper or all the discarded Halloween costumes could be used and send us the pictures and we will publish the best and funniest family get together!

"Also, get ready to film the sing a long at the end of the panto and send that into us on social media and the best will win tickets for next year’s Panto.

"The fun starts next week and we will keep everyone updated on how it is all going!"
