THE sister of a young woman who was tragically found dead in the street has spoken of her devastation over the loss.
Nicole McKenzie, 19, found out that her sister had sadly been found dead in in Springburn on Friday.
Tanya Anne Black was just 25-years-old when she passed away.
Nicole has launched a fundraiser to cover the costs of her sister's funeral, which she is having to organise from her home in Stornoway, on the Isle of Lewis.
She said: "My family just can't handle to shock, so I have to organise her funeral.
"I want to make her proud by giving her the best send-off possible."
Nicole described her sister as a "bubbly, spontaneous, thoughtful, girly-girl."
She said: "She loved shopping and clothes and she was always looking her best."
Tanya had been training to be a nurse and her sister said she was "very strong and very smart."
She had switched to become a hairdresser and moved from the family's Stornoway home to live in Glasgow.
"She was a very loved girl, by me especially. We were close," said Nicole. "She was never snobby and she was always kind to people and fit right in with people she didn't know.
"She was an artist, very artistic. She loved to draw people and those little Tattie Teddies.
"She was very clever."
She is going to view Nicole's body this week and is expecting the results of a postmortem soon.
Her fundraiser has already drawn donations to pay for Tanya's funeral.
One generous donator said: "So sad and far too young. We never knew Tanya but this touched us. I hope you raise enough for the funeral costs. Times will get better."
Police were called to Carleston Street in Springburn on Friday morning in a concern for a person call.
Sadly, Tanya was found dead at the scene.
Police have said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and that a report would be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
