THOUGHTFUL staff at a city casino have been cooking up a storm to provide meals to people who need it the most in their local community.
The generous staff at the Grosvenor Casino in the Merchant City have cooked and donated a total of 1043 meals including tasty chicken curries, cheeseburgers and vegetarian options for those who need a hot meal this winter.
The initiative started around four weeks ago while the casino has remained closed due to current Scottish government guidelines.
Key workers from the NHS, fire brigade, police service and care homes have benefited from the service while the salvation army, have received up to 100 meals a day in order to help the homeless in the city.
Debbie Johnston, General Manager at Grosvenor Casino Glasgow Merchant City, said: “We have always strived to be a key part of our local community here at Grosvenor, with a long legacy of supporting initiatives that benefit those who need it the most.
“We’re proud and pleased to continue that noble legacy and launch a new free meals campaign to once again support those in need throughout Glasgow.”
The casino wants to help more people within the local community such as care providers and charities.
