Andy Halliday has shot down a Celtic fan who claimed that Rangers are not a "great team".

Hoops supporter Tony called into Clyde 1's Superscoreboard show to fight the cause for his team, despite Neil Lennon's side being 13 points behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.

He said: "Rangers are doing well just now, I will give them that.

"But they are not a great team. Anybody who says Rangers are a great team are hitting the bottles of deludamol. They are absolutely barking up the wrong tree.

"They are measured against us [Celtic] because we are bad. When we are good we would wipe the floor with them.

"That is what Celtic fans have to believe. We are better than them and we always will be. We just have to get the boys geed up enough to go out there and prove it."

Halliday, who left Rangers in the summer, then responded: "Yeah 25 unbeaten in all competitions, 13 points clear at the top of the table.

"Qualified through the Europa League group stage with a game to go and not a great team? I'm not sure what Tony is talking about."
