Glasgow's Duke of Wellington statue has been the source of amusement for residents on numerous occasion, but last night there was a Christmas themed twist.
Shoppers in the city centre cheered upon seeing Santa Claus climb the beloved statue.
The act brought some much-needed cheer to citizens and demonstrated what we all know best: People Make Glasgow.
Accompanied by a group of people dressed as elves, the man dressed in red set out to spread Christmas cheer on Royal Exchange Square around 5pm.

One stunned viewer captured the moment Santa took a ladder to the statue.
Mandy McGloan told the Glasgow Times: "We were heading to George Square to take my niece to see the Christmas lights and I said: 'Royal exchange square usually has nice lights as well'.
"We just happened to be passing and saw a group of people dressed up as elves singing and dancing with Santa."
She added the event just "made her night".
"We were all so happy it definitely lifted our spirits and spread some Christmas cheer.
"We thought it would be different as there was no Christmas markets and stuff but this just made our night! It was lovely."
