EAST Dunbartonshire school kids haven’t allowed coronavirus restrictions get in the way of their annual Christmas Gala Concert.
Through the magic of technology, junior musicians across East Dunbartonshire put on a performance of Shakin’ Stevens ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ on video.
Eighteen primary school choirs and 68 secondary school pupils who form the Secondary School Orchestra joined the effort to spread some festive cheer.
The popular event is usually held to a sold out audience in Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall every year.
Joint leader of the council Andrew Polson said:”What a fantastic display of talent and what an utterly joyous performance from our talented youngsters. If ever we needed some festive cheer it is now and I challenge you to watch without a smile. Well done to all our boys and girls.”
Joint Council Leader Vaughan Moody added, "Our Instrumental Music Team does a wonderful job each year and the Christmas Concert is always a triumph. Once again they and the young people have pulled out all the stops and are not letting 2020 get the better of them. Thanks to them all for bringing us this absolute gem."
