A HERO frontline worker has sadly passed away after contracting coronavirus

Before her passing, Ana worked as a staff nurse at Stobhill Hospital but moved to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary to help out with the "staffing crisis" during Covid-19.

She suffered from multiple organ failure and after contracting coronavirus, she sadly lost her battle on Tuesday.

Tributes have since poured in for the "much loved" frontline worker, who has left behind a husband and children.

An online fundraiser has been set up since her death to help her family with funeral costs.

It reads: "She is one of the fallen heroes, a staff nurse at Stobhill Hospital, but instructed to move to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to help out the staffing crisis.

"She was tested covid positive. Sadly, she lost her battle due to multiple organ failure on the 15th of December 2020.

"Unfortunately, Annalisa was the first Zamboangueña who perished in Scotland due to covid 19, while trying to save other people's lives.

"I am so sad that this has happened during this time of the year and while the vaccine has being rolled out.

"Any help that you would like to voluntarily extend to Annalisa's family will be greatly appreciated.

"Whatever we gather will be turned over to the family."

The local health board described Ana as "an incredibly compassionate nurse", offering condolences to her family.

John Stuart, Chief Nurse at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, said: “Ana Lisa was a much-loved member of the team and an incredibly compassionate nurse who was devoted to the care of her patients.

"Ana Lisa came to our country from the Philippines to care for our loved ones and my heart goes out to her family and especially her husband and children. My thoughts, and the thoughts of all of her NHS family here in Glasgow, are with them at this terribly sad time.”
