Brendan Rodgers has heaped praise on Neil Lennon and Celtic for sealing their spot in history by securing an historic quadruple Treble.

The Northern Irishman played his own part as boss at Parkhead before leaving for Leicester City when Lennon walked in and completed the job. Lennon became the first manager in the country to win a trio of trophies in the one season as both a player and gaffer and Rodgers was delighted for his pal.

He was also quick to ensure those down south knew exactly how tough the job was, as Scottish football is often regarded as being a poorer quality product by those in the Premier League and further down.

"People sometimes down here think it's easy for Celtic or Rangers, for that matter, to win games but there's not too many teams that can go out with the pressure you have at Celtic to win every game," Rodgers said. "To then go and win 12 consecutive trophies, it will never be done again I'm pretty sure.

"It just really typifies the mentality of the team and I was so happy that they did it. And obviously, of course, for Neil because to be the first manager in Scotland to have won a treble both as a player and a manager, that puts him in that unique bracket."
