A NEW school and early learning campus is to be erected in Clydebank.

West Dunbartonshire Council is set to receive a share of £800million from the Scottish Government to build the facility in Faifley.

The new campus will replace Auchnacraig Early Learning and Childcare Centre, Edinbarnet Primary and St Joseph’s Primary schools.

More than 500 pupils and young people will be moved into the "world class education facilities," which will include a library and community facilities.

Education secretary John Swinney revealed the funding, alongside local authority contributions to Phase 2 of the Learning Estate Investment Programme, will enable almost £800 million of investment across 18 local authorities.

An engagement event will be held early next year for parents to discuss the project.
