More than 2000 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
A total of 2,045 new cases were reported across Scotland in figures released on Wednesday by the Scottish Government.
It is the highest number of positive cases in the country since the pandemic began.
A total of 43 deaths of people who tested positive for coronavirus were registered since yesterday.
Of the new cases, 618 were recorded in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 295 under the Lanarkshire health board.
A total of 19,722 new tests for Covid-19 reported results, of which 11.3% were positive, marking a 3.1% decrease in the test positivity rate.
As of midnight last night, 1,133 people were in hospital, 69 of which were in intensive care.
It comes amid concern of a growing number of cases in several areas in Scotland.
Nicola Sturgeon is set to address the latest spike in Covid-19 cases in parliament later today.
The First Minister confirmed a coronavirus update will be given at 3.30pm.
