THEY are usually packed with revellers welcoming in the new year but last night the city's streets were abandoned on a Hogmanay like no other.
New Year's Eve celebrations were axed across the country with no relaxation of the rules for the bells.
It meant Glaswegians had to stick to their homes last night instead of the city's watering holes.
Cops had warned that they would break up parties if people flouted restrictions for New Year celebrations.
Officers said they would "use enforcement powers to disperse large groups" if they gathered to bring in 2021.
Under current level four restrictions in the city, all pubs, bars, and restaurants have to remain closed in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19.
