Floods of posts on Twitter have highlighted the issue of "black ice" on roads and pavements across the city as residents have urged one another to take care.
One Tweet reads: "Please take care when out, the main roads, side streets and pavements are covered in black ice."
Another added: "Black ice everywhere were this morning people."
It comes as a cold snap has seen lakes and ponds across the city freeze over, with ice skaters taking to Queen's Park over the weekend.
