A BUSY Paisley street will be closing for a much needed upgrade.

Seedhill Road will be closed at it’s junction with Mill Street as of Monday January 11 for around three months. Mill Street’s southbound carriageway will then close on Monday February 8 for around two months.

As a result of the closures, a diversion will be in place through a contraflow on Mill Street’s northbound carriageway.

Upgrades to sewers under Mill Street and waste water infrastructure at Seedhill Road come as part of works set to improve water quality in the White Cart Water.

The work is expected to be completed by May 2021 and will be carried out by contractor George Leslie.

Georgina Reid, Scottish Water’s corporate affairs regional manager in the west region, said: “This investment is building on the great work that’s already been done in Paisley with the successful completion of the Paisley Tunnelling Project in 2018.

“Some road traffic management will be necessary for the work to take place but we’ll do all we can to minimise any disruption for the community. The children’s play park in East End Park, near Mill Street, will be available for use as normal. We’d like to thank all local residents and road users in advance for their patience and understanding.”
