To their response, First Glasgow said: "There's a disruption at Carmunock Road and Castlemilk due to the road not being gritted."

The service is currently having to terminate at Carmunnock Road.

The bus operator has contacted gritting services for an update.

A Glasgow City Council spokesman said: "Carmunnock Road and other priority routes in the Castlemilk area were gritted on Thursday evening from 8pm onwards and then again from 1am onwards this morning.

"We are currently viewing Carmunnock Road on our traffic cameras and can see the road is running black, although drivers should still approach with caution.

"A further gritting treatment will be undertaken this morning and we will make a physical check on the road to see if there are any local issues.

"It should be stressed that certain conditions such as snow covering grit that is laid down can undermine the effectiveness of any gritting treatments."
