I HAVE seen absolutely no evidence of gritting anywhere around Holmhead Place.

I have balance and co-ordination difficulties and learning difficulties. The nearest grit bin to my house is allegedly on Tankerland Road... halfway up a steep incline. I am INCAPABLE of getting grit so I am now TRAPPED in my apartment... I am absolutely furious. The council have proven that they do not care about people in my position.

IT’S said that Glasgow City Council are regularly refilling grit bins – well, they certainly have not managed in Langside and Battlefield (Concerns over treacherous road conditions amid cold snap, January 9).

Mansionhouse Road gardens, part of Millbrae, are a shocking mess.

Delivery drivers are saying it’s a nightmare and the last I was out was to attend GP surgery when I took my life into my hands as it was an ice rink.

The gritter comes to grit Mansionhouse Road at around 9pm every night and the speed he drives at is something else and he seems to be missing it with grit, making it like an ice rink.

SO what they are saying is why should they be made to work if others get to sit at home, and to hell with the fact that by doing this it’s keeping them in a job (Worker at Glasgow clothing firm Quiz hits out at bosses over Covid fears, January 9)?

The office staff are still working from home by taking the orders and sending it to the warehouse which in turn send out the clothes thereby helping them to keep their jobs as there is only so long that a business can keep going and furlough has its limits.

If the warehouse has safety measures put in place and it’s not crowded which has been indicated then there is no reason for them not to work.

The Government has been very clear if you can work from home then do so – however, if you cannot, which is the case for certain industries, then government guidelines are to be put in place to protect the workers.

HAS anyone else noticed the amount of plastic milk bottles being dumped on the roadside after being used to clean the cars due to the recent ice and frost conditions?

They could have taken the bottles with them and placed in a bin, I think other readers would agree.
