CELTIC's Scottish Premiership fixture against Hibs, due to be played on Monday night, might not go ahead as planned - because a number of the Leith side's players 'have reservations about participating'.

The Parkhead club were dealt a bitter blow after French defender Christopher Jullien returned a positive test for coronavirus upon the team's return from their winter training camp in Dubai.

That led to 13 players and three members of the coaching staff - including manager Neil Lennon and assistant John Kennedy - forced into self-isolation, meaning they will play no part in Monday night's clash at Parkhead.

However, league chiefs outlined their expectation that the decimated Hoops would play Hibs as originally planned - even if that meant fielding a second-string side.

The game is once again in jeopardy though and could be postponed at the last minute, with Sky Sports reporting that Jack Ross' players 'have been consulted over whether they feel comfortable playing in tonight's game' - adding that it is not yet known whether any of the men from the capital will refuse to play.

Sky Sports said: "Hibernian have consulted their players today over whether they feel comfortable playing in tonight’s game.

"Some are believed to have reservations about participating, but it is unclear at this stage if any have chosen not to play."
