Glasgow can expect more ice-covered pavements and roads as the Met Office issues a weather warning.

Forecasters warned of possible injuries caused by slips on icy surfaces and difficult driving condition until 10am on Friday.

The yellow warning for ice covers the entirety of Scotland and has replaced one for snow and ice issued earlier.

Glasgow Times:

Glasgow City Council gritting teams will continue to treat surfaces tonight but the authority also warned of black ice.

A Met Office statement reads: "A further one to two cm of snow is possible in a few places at first, mainly above 200 metres across Scotland, northern and central England, before residual rain, sleet and snow dies out during Thursday evening.

"Ice is then likely to form on some untreated surfaces, with difficult conditions on some roads and pavements by Friday morning."

Dreary weather will continue into Saturday when a band of snow is set to hit Glasgow.

A warning for snow and ice is in place from 3am on December 16 until 9pm.
