CEDRIC ITTEN is confident there is plenty more to come from him this term as he looks to improve on a promising first half of the season at Ibrox.

The striker will be part of Steven Gerrard's squad for the Premiership clash with Motherwell on Sunday as he seeks to add to his three goals against the Steelmen this season.

Itten's only other strike for the Gers came in the Europa League victory over Lech Poznan but the Swiss is pleased with his progress as he raises his levels as a key part of the Ibrox attack.

Itten said: “I think I have learned a lot. The league is different. Sometimes it is different with the training. But I have adapted now. I know all the tactics of the group. It’s all good improvements.

“I think he (Gerrard) is happy with my progress. He always gives me some advice.

"I think I’m getting better all the time, training with my team-mates. There is all the work off the pitch as well with the athletic coaches and other stuff.

“We have a good squad with so many good players, a lot of quality. I think that’s why we have been successful.

"It’s just a pleasure to play every day with them, to work with them and learn a lot from them. There is a lot of experience as well. It’s great to be here.

“I try to be patient, work hard and be ready when the manger wants me to play.

“We have so many games in the league and so many competitions so it’s always important to focus on the next game. We have to be 100 per cent there to get results.

"We try to focus on the next game. It’s always nice to win these games but we just have to focus on the next game because we are usually playing every three or four days.”
