A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged shooting in the East End on Tuesday. 

Two men were rushed to hospital after a gun was said to have been fired on a van outside a shop on Tollcross Road at around 7.40am. 

The pair, aged 28 and 55, were taken to the Royal Infirmary for treatment but later released. A 31-year-old man was also in the vehicle at the time.

Now, officers have confirmed a 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred outside the 'One Stop Shop'. 

He is due to appear in Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that a 34-year old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a firearms incident in the East End of Glasgow on Tuesday, January 12.

"Three men aged 28, 31 and 55 years were sitting within a white coloured Ford Transit van outside the ‘One Stop Shop’ in Tollcross Road at around 7.40am, when a firearm was discharged at the van.

Glasgow Times: "Both the 28-year-old man and the 55-year-old man were taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where they were treated for injuries. They were later released from hospital. The 31-year-old man was not injured.

"Enquiries are continuing and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal. He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, January 18."
