THE former Tory for Glasgow Pollok has been officially dumped by the party over "unacceptable" claims he made about people using food banks came to light.
Craig Ross was suspended from the party over comments made in a podcast last year which said food bank users were "far from starving" and more at risk of diabetes than going hungry.
He also made what his opponent for the South Side seat Humza Yousaf called "deplorable" comments about a historical inquiry into the racially motivated murder of Stephen Lawrence.

Mr Ross is now no longer a member of the Scottish Conservatives.
It is understood Mr Ross will now challenge the seat as an independent.
The Tories put Mr Ross under investigation this morning after the comments surfaced.
We told previously how Mr Ross was pilloried on social media after he posted a video of him performing 18 pull-ups in a bizarre jibe against nationalist politicians.
A Scottish Conservative spokesman said: "Craig Ross is no longer a candidate or a member of the party.”
