A gritter caught on fire on the M74 near Hamilton last night.
Emergency services were called to the motorway to extinguish the blaze on Friday.
The M74 southbound was closed between junction 6 and 7.
Lane two was reopened shortly after the incident but the other lane remained closed until after midnight.
Nobody is thought to have been injured in the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 8.40pm on Friday, 15 January, officers were called to a report of a gritter on fire on the M74 southbound, near junction 6.
"Officers attended with other emergency services and there was no report of any injuries."
