X-Factor star Wagner has issued an apology after he was asked to record a vile message about late Rangers hero Fernando Ricksen.

The singer sells personalised videos for fans who can request certain songs or messages. But he claims he was tricked into producing a message by a troll, mocking Ricksen, who passed away from motor neurone disease back in 2019.

In one photo shared by the singer, one request from the yob asked him to say: "To the best dribbler Scotland's ever seen. You didn't see the nine." The vile message also mocked the Ibrox disaster which claimed the lives of 66 people in 1971.

Glasgow Times:

The video was requested to be signed off from Neil Francis, seemingly in reference to Celtic manager Lennon.

An apologetic Wagner took to social media after being told of the meaning behind some of the messages. And he apologised to Ricksen's family.

Sharing a photo of the man who requested the clip, Wagner said: "Hello Everybody. I did not know who Fernando Ricksen was, as many of you know, I record thousands of custom videos every year. My sincere apologies to Fernando Ricksen's family and fans."

Ricksen passed away in 2019 after a long-term battle with the illness. His funeral was attended by thousands of fans and former teammates. He is survived by his wife Veronika and daughter Isabella.
