A man was hospitalised after a disturbance in Paisley left him with serious injuries. 

Emergency services were called to King Street on Friday evening. 

The man, 30, was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital. 

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We were called to a report of a disturbance on King Street, Paisley, around 10.15pm on Friday, 15 January, 2021.

"A 30-year-old man sustained a serious, but not life-threatening injuriy, and was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
